Bank Robber! The Trial of W.W. Butler

History comes alive in Koochiching County as the Trial of W.W. Butler is re-told by the IBRT. In 1895 in the tiny village of Rainy Lake City, banker W.W. Butler was accused of staging a robbery of his own bank and getting away with the loot. Some question remains to this day as to exactly what happened, but now, members of the local historical society from opposite camps on the issue have a chance to battle it out - Debate Style!
