On warm summer afternoons at US/Canadian border crossings, the wait to go through customs can stretch on for hours.  On one such afternoon, three couples in three cars roll forward, an inch at a time as the sun beats down.  JUSTIN & BRITTANY, in a Beetle, are barely out of high school, but have impulsively gotten married that afternoon and are now headed to their honeymoon with the princely sum of $300 in their pocket.  STARR & DARREN, in a minivan, have been married long enough to have teen age kids and are returning home after visiting relatives north of the border.  And VELMA & EINAR, in a land yacht, are on the far side of 70, returning home after a disastrous shopping trip.  As the wait drags on, each couple learns they connected to the other.  A pretty girl catches Justin’s eye which leads to Brittany exiting the Beetle in a huff.  Velma sees Brittany and realizes she is the store clerk that made fun of the size of her feet and ruined her attempt to buy shoes.  And Starr, seeing Justin exit the Beetle to try and calm Brittany down, realizes he is her estranged son from another marriage.  Then, Justin and Brittany make up and return to the Beetle.  Einar sees them kissing and teasingly suggests he and Velma try that.  Einar swipes a kiss, upsetting Velma.  Velma vacates the land yacht and Einar follows her to calm her down.  Darren sees them and recognizes Eniar as the middle school basketball coach that cut him, traumatizing him for life.  Starr exits the minivan to try and help Velma.  She learns of Velma’s plight and is incensed that the girl in the Beetle would insult her that way.  Justin recognizes Starr.  Brittany gets angry since Starr had abandoned her family, traumatizing her new husband.  Brittany exits the Beetle spoiling for a fight with Starr.  Starr raises her hackles at Brittany for the way she treated Velma.  But when Velma learned Starr abandoned her first family, she has some choice words for her.  Darren exits the minivan to try and extract Starr from the mele.  Then, Einar gets out of the land yacht and Darren wants to pick a fight with him.  Finally, Einar, the ex basketball coach, blows a whistle (which he always has with him) and orders everyone to separate cars.  Justin and Starr to the minivan where they will work on their relationship, Brittany and Velma to the Beetle where they will work on theres, and Darren and Eniar to the land yacht.  We close with Starr telling us how everything worked out.
